Other Ways of Knowing: Understanding Aboriginal Trauma

Overview

This interactive workshop will examine Aboriginal ways of being, communication and engagement styles. Topics covered include:

The workshop also provides information, resources and strategies for working with Aboriginal people within a southern Australian context. Participants will explore ways of doing things 'differently' from an organisational position that is culturally inclusive and appropriate. The aim is to increase engagement and communication between non-Aboriginal and Aboriginal people and their communities.

The workshop is aimed at alcohol and other drug workers, students, allied health and welfare workers and others with an interest in working with and understanding Aboriginal people.

A workbook and other resources are provided to each participant.
