Drug and Alcohol Nurses of Australasia (DANA) 2017 Endurance Forum

 

Overview

The Drug and Alcohol Nurses of Australasia (DANA) 2017 Endurance Forum aims to bring together leaders in the alcohol and other drug (AOD) field from across Australia and New Zealand, to share their knowledge about the science of addiction and effective clinical practices. The aims and objectives of the forum are to encourage nurses, midwives, health care workers and consumers to minimise harm to individuals, families and communities from drugs and alcohol.

The theme of the forum, Endurance, will reflect upon the motivation, time required and spent by AOD staff and their patients, as they work together to achieve their goals. Approaches to the treatment of addiction are continuously evolving and in order to effectively respond to these changes, nurses and other health care workers need to be aware of contemporary substance use and associated issues.
