Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) Coordinator Training

 

Overview

This training is intended for Needle and Syringe Program (NSP) Coordinators, people working in an NSP or those working in an agency which is interested in establishing an NSP in Western Australia (WA).

The two day training will be held from 8th – 9th May 2018 at the Metro Hotel Perth, South Perth Western Australia. 

The training aims to increase participants’ knowledge, skills and abilities in relation to delivering NSP. Both days are relevant to health workers who participate in the provision of NSP to help prevent the transmission of hepatitis B, C and HIV from and among people who inject drugs and the wider community.

Participants will be required to complete an online NSP Orientation Training Package prior to attending the two day workshop and are expected to have previous knowledge of:

Training is free for participants and will will be conducted by the Workforce Development Branch of the Mental Health Commission (MHC) in collaboration with the Sexual Health and Blood-borne Virus Program (SHBBVP) and with input from non-government organisations.
