Fund My Community

Fund My Community is a grant opportunity that provides funding of between $10,000 and $100,000 for community organisations to deliver projects that measurably improve the well-being, quality of life and participation of disadvantaged South Australians.

A new assessment process involving the community is being trialled, with 3 stages to the assessment process:

  1. applications are assessed for eligibility by the Fund My Community program staff
  2. South Australians assess the eligible applications and make recommendations on funding - anyone living in South Australia can participate in this stage of the assessment
  3. the Board of the Charitable and Social Welfare Fund endorses the outcomes of the community assessment and approves the funding.

By involving the public in deciding what projects get funded, Fund My Community also seeks to increase community awareness of social issues, and to give organisations a chance to promote their services and programs.

Disadvantage is defined as the negative impact of reduced or limited access to resources or services due to an individual's personal, social, economic or geographic circumstances and would be indicated by factors such as:

Application details: Applications open generally in February each year, and close in April. Community assessment will be open in April-May, and outcomes will be announced by the end of May.
