Remote Alcohol and Other Drugs Workforce Program

Description

The Remote Alcohol and Other Drug (AOD) Workforce Program is a service that extends across 40 remote communities in the Northern Territory, employing local people to work within their own community.

The remote AOD worker provides both appropriate support for clients, carers and families affected by AOD issues as well as community development activities that increase the capacity for AOD service provision at the local level.

The Remote AOD workforce program is located within primary health care centres and includes Northern Territory Department of Health and Aboriginal Medical Services.
