Overview

Umoona Tjutagku Health Service Aboriginal Corporation's (UTHSAC) Drug and Alcohol Program provides a range of services to assist Aboriginal people living in Coober Pedy, South Australia. These include:

• brief intervention
  • shower program
  • breakfast program
  • street checks
• counselling for clients with co-morbidities (alcohol and other drug (AOD) use and mental health problems)
• individual and family counselling
• women and men's groups
• transfers and referrals to and from hospital, residential rehabilitation or corrective services
• community education
• case management of clients with AOD use issues.

Support groups for grief, anger management and assertiveness skills are also offered as well as regular activities such as painting, art and wood burning.
