A Feasibility Study of Screening, Diagnosis and Workforce Development to Improve the Management of Youth with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder in the Justice System

 

Overview

This research aims to establish the first Australian estimate of Fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD) among youth in detention. The project also aims is to develop and evaluate a new model of service delivery and management plan for youth in detention with FASD.

Specific objectives of the project include:

The project is led by Professor Carol Bower of the Telethon Kids Institute, based at the University of Western Australia.
